The Vision

A safe space for slum children to learn and grow and a study café for youth, who can give back by teaching the kids in return for using the space. A shared community hub designed to inspire, uplift, and create opportunities for all.

The Need

  • Slum children often drop out or fail in school because they lack guidance, technology, or a safe place to study.
  • Girls face even sharper discrimination—expected to help at home while boys get milk, meat, and schooling.
  • Children, especially Senior students need computers and the internet to study and also for assignments etc. All forms for higher students are filled online.
  • Senior students from migrant families in Delhi struggle too, crammed into hostels/PGs with no study-friendly environment.
  • Both groups—slum children and migrant youth—need a place that nurtures learning, builds confidence, and opens doors to opportunities.

Our Model

The centre runs on a cross-subsidy principle :

  • Slum children (all ages) → Use the centre completely free, gaining access to laptops, internet, tutoring, and safe study/play spaces.
  • Migrant youth & college students → Pay a small symbolic fee to use the study café. In lieu of the fee, they can choose to contribute by mentoring or tutoring younger kids.
  • Shared benefit → The small fees collected from youth are reinvested directly to sustain the centre for slum children.
  • Volunteers: from the community will help run the centre and also keep the program in check

This way, the space remains self-sustaining, inclusive, and community-driven.

The Impact

  • For slum children: Free academic support, access to technology, safe environment for girls, and mentorship.
  • For migrant youth: Affordable, well-equipped study space + meaningful community contribution through teaching.
  • For the community: A culture of giving back, where education becomes a shared responsibility.
  • Future possibility: The space will be used to conduct workshops/ camps to train and empower the needy.

  • 3,500 → Cleaning staff salary
  • 6,000 → Electricity for laptops & lights
