COVID-19 RELIEF

Our Nation was hit by the Coronavirus in January 2020. From March 2020, a nationwide lockdown was announced to ‘break the chain’. The nation came together to fight and the government took measures to get things were under control. During this Phase-I, many of us contributed and some helped with on-ground relief work. From Mar 2021, the second wave came like a hurricane challenging the preparedness of health services. The media were & still is flooded with images of people crying for basic facilities like a hospital bed, Oxygen, and basic services. While the system crumbled against the onslaught of the pandemic, many individuals & organizations came together to provide help and support.

Unbound Futures Foundation has taken a leap and joined hands with Covid Resources India; a group of selfless volunteers – all strangers, working 24×7 to help one find verified resources related to all COVID needs.

With a common mission to help India during the Covid crisis, we have set up these fundraisers to support the army, grassroots groups/ organizations working on the ground for Covid relief.

Donation for devices for students

As education has shifted to online medium, For the have-nots this is a big issue. For the past two years we have managed to send some phones to be shared amongst those staying close to each other. There are many students, especially girls, who do not know how to operate a smartphone. While handing out mobile phones is only part of the solution, the students need further guidance and supervision. To solve this issue, we want to install laptops at our center where our mentors can guide them properly. Seniors students will be able to borrow them as well for home study. We need your HELP to buy these devices for our kids. Kindly donate generously.

Support Education

Based in Bijanbari (Dist. Darjeeling), Project Shiksha is a support initiative to provide Educational opportunities for under-privileged children. We strongly believe that only education can empower our children to make the right choices in life and embolden them to chase their dreams. It is the foundation for our future. For Project Shiksha, we raise funds to sponsor books, school fees, shoes and uniforms, and education support for young children. These children are funded through University - till they find suitable careers. Under this initiative, some of our children are now serving in the army, working in Hotels & multinational company, as a nurse in the hospital, pharmacist etc.

Donation for Food Kit

Thousands of families in the rural areas of West Bengal (Darjeeling, Ghoom- Jorebunglow, Kalimpong, Mirik, Pokhriabong, Dooars, Sundarbans, 24 Parganas & more) are struggling to keep their kitchen running through this pandemic. Many are daily wagers/ casual labourers, widows or women abandoned to fend for themselves & their children. For income, many are dependent on the MGNREGA scheme, or the tourism (working as porters, cleaners, guides etc) to support their family. There is also a large volume of traditional tea garden workers (people who pluck tea leaves for a living) who were forced to migrate to the nearby towns/ cities to work in the unskilled labour class especially from areas where the tea gardens have been closed down arbitrarily. The second wave has seen them migrating back to their hamlets and villages. An average family size is 4-5 members living in small one or two rooms houses. With no work available, it is an uphill task to feed the family. This campaign is to help these family overcome the harsh conditions till the situation becomes normal and they are able to find work to support themselves. Each Food Support Kit costs INR 1500 only and consists of dry ration items & hygiene items like 5kg Rice, 3 litres cooking oil, 3 kg pulses, 5 kgs Aata, Sugar, Salt, Spices, 4 PC's of bathing soap, toothpaste and detergent soap. Kindly come forward & help in whatever capacity you can. We also provide 80G certificates to individuals & corporates through our platform.

Unbound Futures Foundation supported by CovidResources.in is currently raising funds for 25 Oxygen concentrators to help the Indian Airforce's Covid Care facility in New Delhi, India. We are aiming to procure 5-7 Litre capacity dual flow Oxygen concentrators, which is costing us INR 80,000 - 1,00,000/-per piece including taxes. We have successfully provided & fundraised for 20 oxygen concentrators to the Covid Care Facility under Indian Army. We will keep on increasing the number and support hospitals & centres working relentlessly on ground in India.
